Fall 2007 Funding Opportunities
WE NOW HAVE A NEW ON-LINE SUBMISSION PROCESS FOR ALL RESEARCH PROPOSALS.
The Africana Research Center (ARC) provides monetary support for research/scholarship that addresses critical issues about the African Diaspora. Our mission is to encourage and support research and scholarship that (a) enhances the lives of Africans across the Diaspora, and (b) serves as a catalyst for promoting an enabling environment where cultural production and discourse on diversity We strongly encourage the development of interdisciplinary work.
SPECIAL CALL FOR FACULTY (Levels I and II) PROPOSALS
Theme: Natural Disasters' and Resource Conflicts:
Empowering Africa and the Diaspora in the 21st Century
ARC encourages the development of projects in the following areas related to the theme of this special call:
- Adaptability and Coping Strategies
- Economic Justice
- Environmental Justice
- Capacity Building
- Civil Society
- Democratization/Leadership
- Globalization and Social Justice
- Health (Mental Health and Trauma)
- Migration and Refugees
- Peace and Conflict Resolution
- Prisons and Incarceration, Youth
Three levels of funding mechanisms exist, one student and two faculty.
- Student Level Maximum $ 1,000
- Faculty Level I Maximum $ 2,000
- Faculty Level II Maximum $ 5,000
